Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes (middle and high school) across the United States. Learn more about NICA
Team Registration: $150
Each race: $50
Team jersey: $45
Racing is not mandatory, but we will encourage everyone to try at least one.
The Team Director will email a student's parent/guardian with a registration link.
Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:30pm at Wallace Gardens. During the season we'll also hit a few local trails. Chestnut Ridge and Berliner are two of our favorites.
Race day is Sunday, but Saturday the course is open for pre-ride. We encourage all athletes to spend the entire day cheering on their teammates, staying for awards and helping with tear-down.
The coaches are role models and teachers who are certified by NICA at one of three levels (1, 2 and 3). Coaches are often parent volunteers who are committed to the safety and overall well-being of student-athletes.
Level 1: Assist all coaches as directed by the lead coach (Ex: Coral kids, help with admin)
Level 2: Assist level 3 coach in more advanced tasks (Helps plan and lead rides)
Level 3: Takes a more leadership role with the team (Gives direction to other coaches)
